Forum Playbook privacy policy and terms of use
Forum Playbook is a free resource hub. This site does not sell personal information, and there are no accounts. It has one form, the app beta signup; nothing else on the site asks you for anything.
If you sign up for the app beta at forumplaybook.com/app-beta, we keep what you type into that form: your name, the email address tied to your Apple ID, your chapter and forum, the features you picked, any forum mates' email addresses you add, and anything you write in the last box. It is stored in a Cloudflare database and seen only by Colton, who is building the app. It is used to invite you, and anyone you list, to the TestFlight beta, to set up your forum's profile, and to decide what to build first. Sending a TestFlight invite gives Apple the email address, under Apple's Privacy Policy. It is never sold or shared for marketing. To have your signup deleted, email [email protected]. If you list your forum mates, make sure they are glad to hear from us.
This site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not follow you to other sites. It records page views along with general details like the referring site, browser type, country, and how fast the page loaded. That data is processed by Cloudflare and is subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. It is on every page of this site, including the homepage and the one-pagers. The full plain-language notice for this site and Colton's other sites, including what is counted, what is never done and how to reach him, is at coltonland.com/privacy.
This site also loads Google Tag Manager, a Google script that can run measuring tools such as Google Analytics. When this page was last updated the container was empty: it ran no tags, so Google Analytics was not running. Loading the script still means your browser contacts Google, which sees your IP address and browser type the way any web server does. If Google Analytics is ever switched on through it, it uses cookies and records things like which pages are visited and how long people stick around, and that data is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. Apart from the app beta signup described above, no personally identifiable information is collected or stored by Forum Playbook.
This site also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, its resource library from Google Drive, its video list and videos from YouTube, the reel on the homepage from Vimeo, and the "Download on the App Store" badge from Apple. Your browser fetches each of those straight from Google, Vimeo or Apple, under their own privacy practices.
If you're in the EU or elsewhere with local privacy laws: this site makes no attempt to profile you, target you, or sell anything to you. If you have questions, you can reach out via LinkedIn.
This section covers the Forum Playbook iOS apps: Forum Timer and 1000 Great Questions.
The apps collect nothing. No accounts, no logins, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no third-party SDKs. Everything you do in the apps -- rosters, agendas, timers, favorites, question history -- is stored on your device and nowhere else. Delete the app and it's gone.
Forum Timer plays audio alerts even when your phone is on silent. That's the entire point of the app, not a data practice, but it's worth saying plainly: the app uses your speaker, never your microphone.
Neither app collects, stores, transmits, or sells personal information of any kind. If that ever changes, this page will say so before the change ships.
The resources on this site -- templates, frameworks, guides, and worksheets -- are here to be used. That's the whole point. Take them, adapt them, run better Forums with them.
A few things to keep in mind: where a resource credits a source, respect that credit. Some materials were created by Colton Mulligan, some were adapted from others' work, and some are widely circulated with unclear origins. Sources are cited when known. If something is yours and it's not credited correctly, reach out and it'll get fixed.
Don't repackage these resources and sell them. Don't claim you made them if you didn't. Beyond that, use your judgment -- these are tools for facilitators, not legal landmines.
This site is provided as-is, with no guarantees. Forum facilitation is a human endeavor and no template is a substitute for actually showing up prepared. If something on this site is broken or wrong, it's probably Colton's fault. He doesn't know how to code.
